Dr. Harsh Patel grew up in Anand, India and earned his medical degree from the Baroda Medical College, M.S. University in India. He then completed his internal medicine training at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, where he also served as a chief fellow in his final year.
Dr. Patel aims to provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions. He dedicates a significant portion of his practice to performing a wide range of gastrointestinal endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures, while also caring for patients in outpatient and hospital settings. His clinical and research interests are in harnessing emerging technologies to enhance diagnostic accuracy, optimize clinical decision-making, and advance personalized treatment approaches in gastroenterology. He is well published in this field, reflecting his ongoing commitment to technological innovation in gastroenterology.
Dr. Patel believes that exceptional patient care begins with listening well and understanding each individual’s expectations. He approaches every patient encounter as an opportunity to connect health concerns with actionable answers, guiding patients through diagnosis and recovery. He is committed to shared decision-making and ensures patients understand what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what treatment options are available to bring meaningful relief.
Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys playing cricket, spending quality time with family, and traveling to explore new cultures and experience festivals and celebrations around the world.
He is an active member of national societies like the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) where he has previously served on the Medical Simulation and Education Technology Committee.
