Dr. Zuie Wakade, DO

Dr. Zuie Wakade is a Michigan native and graduated from Michigan State University, where she
earned both her B.S. in Lyman Briggs physiology and medical degree. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital and completed her gastroenterology fellowship training at St. John Providence Health System.


Dr. Wakade is double board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She specializes
in general gastroenterology with a focus on the screening and prevention of colon cancer,
performs endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures, and treats a wide range of gastrointestinal
disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease (PUD), celiac
disease, functional dyspepsia, microscopic colitis, diarrhea, constipation, and irritable bowel
syndrome (IBS).

 

She is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American College of Gastroenterology.


With an interest in international healthcare and medical ethics, Dr. Wakade studied abroad in
Costa Rica, Peru, Guatemala, India, and Malawi during her training and worked alongside local
doctors to gain new perspectives on ways medicine is practiced around the world. She values
patient-centered care and treating people as a whole, not just their medical problems. Her
passion and enthusiasm for medicine started at an early age and stemmed from her mother,
Pranjali Wakade PA-C, an Infectious Disease specialist in Flint, MI and her late uncle, Dr.
Purushottam Naik MD, a Geriatrician in Flint, MI.


In Dr. Wakade’s free time she enjoys painting, the outdoors, spot-the-difference puzzles, live
music, singing, gardening, and is a vintage enthusiast.
